Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Orthopedic Athletic Trainer to join our Sports and Athletics team. The Orthopedic Athletic Trainer will be responsible for providing specialized care to athletes and individuals participating in athletic activities. This role will primarily focus on the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of orthopedic injuries.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of athletes' orthopedic injuries and conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and rehabilitation programs for athletes and individuals with orthopedic injuries.
- Administer various therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and taping techniques to promote healing and enhance functional recovery.
- Collaborate with team physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and appropriate referrals.
- Provide immediate medical care during practices, games, and events, including injury evaluation and emergency treatment.
- Assist in the development and implementation of injury prevention programs and strategies.
- Educate athletes, coaches, and other staff members on injury prevention, proper body mechanics, and safe training techniques.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including injury reports, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant documentation.
- Stay current with advancements in orthopedic medicine, athletic training techniques, and rehabilitation protocols.
- Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing athletic training and patient care.
- Participate in department meetings, professional development activities, and continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Athletic Training from an accredited institution.
- Current certification as an Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC).
- State licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the applicable state.
- Minimum of [X] years of experience working as an Orthopedic Athletic Trainer.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of orthopedic injuries and conditions commonly seen in athletes.
- Proficient in conducting orthopedic evaluations and developing evidence-based treatment plans.
